From Scale to Significance: Welcoming Heather van Munster, Director of Client Solutions
When you ask Heather van Munster about leadership, she won’t point to a title or a credential. Instead, she’ll take you back to her eight-year-old self—greeting guests and bussing tables in her family’s hospitality business, driven by a quiet sense of responsibility and pride.
“Being the owner’s child meant expectations were high,” she says. “I had to roll up my sleeves, take on the toughest jobs, and lead by example. That’s where I learned that leadership isn’t about status—it’s about service.”
That mindset has followed Heather throughout a career defined by purpose, performance, and people. After 15 years at IBM, including her most recent role as Account Executive supporting the K–12 education sector in British Columbia, Heather has joined IX Solutions as our Director of Client Solutions—a role that bridges vision with execution, strategy with empathy.
A career built on relationships
Heather’s journey at IBM began in administrative support and evolved into progressive leadership positions. Along the way, she developed a strong focus on digital transformation, strategic growth, and long-term client partnerships. Her most recent work centred around helping school districts implement secure, inclusive, and future-ready technologies to support modern learning environments.
Beyond the boardroom, Heather has consistently invested in her community. She serves as Co-Chair of Women in Leadership Victoria, Founder of Women on the Rise, and serves on the Advisory Board for WIL’s Transforming the Workplace Opportunities initiative. These roles reflect her personal mission to empower women, elevate emerging leaders, and create space for collective impact.
“At the core of my work is a deep belief in inclusion, intentional growth, and the power of connection,” she says. “I’m energized by opportunities to help others rise—to guide, mentor, and walk alongside people as they grow.”
Why IX, why now?
Making the shift from a global corporation to a more agile, Canadian-owned consultancy was a conscious choice for Heather. “There’s a kind of momentum in companies like IX,” she explains. “Without the layers that can slow decision-making, there’s this rare clarity and responsiveness—and that translates directly into value for clients.”
But more than agility, it’s alignment that drew her in.
“IXS offers something special. A people-first culture. A client-obsessed team. The ability to contribute meaningfully, not just to outcomes, but to how the business grows and evolves. That matters to me.”
In her new role, Heather will lead the evolution of our client solutions strategy—mentoring the sales team, supporting purchasing, and helping deliver results that are both technically sound and deeply aligned with client priorities. It’s a strategic and hands-on role, and one she’s well-suited to take on.
“My goal is to create a culture of collaboration and accountability—one where big ideas turn into real, measurable outcomes, and where people feel empowered to do their best work.”
Outside the office
Heather holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and is a Certified Executive Coach (CEC). She’s also currently working toward her Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) designation, reflecting her passion for health, wellness, and continuous growth.
Outside of work, she’s a lifelong learner—diving into books, workshops, podcasts, and meaningful conversations. She sets intentional goals, not just for herself but for her family and community. “I hope to inspire my sons—and the people around me—to stay curious, take risks, and pursue a life that feels aligned.”
Heather’s presence at IX Solutions marks more than a new hire—it’s a signal of our commitment to building with purpose and delivering solutions that make a difference. We’re proud to have her with us! Please feel free to say hello and connect directly with Heather on LinkedIn.
